Your top photo is the Supreme Court and the 2nd one is Union Station. Its a fantastic venue inside - got to look up when you are in there!
|
I've been inside Union Station, of course (though not on this trip). But from outside, all these ginormous DC buildings ... #facepalm
I had taken photos of a few buildings as I walked around. I thought this was one of the other ones. |
DC is a fantastic place to visit and even though I've been many times, I still take photos of the same buildings! LOL

Here are the final few photos from this trip. I managed to snag a window seat on the Southwest flight to Atlanta. But before I boarded, I had to endure some anxious moments as Southwest announced a 25 minute delay.
Given that I had a 50 minute connection at Atlanta, I was worried that I might miss my flight to Orlando. I need not have worried. The flight to Atlanta left only about ten minutes late and managed to make up time - I was easily able to make my connection. The flight to Orlando was quite empty. It was literally the most sparsely filled plane I have ever been on. The flight attendants ensured that everyone was well spread out. I believe there was just me and another passenger occupying the last five rows of the aircraft! https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...a8843c165f.jpg As a result of the short delay in taking off, I had given up all hopes of a good sunset photo. But I had still strategically picked a right side window seat... https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...ee5c39442a.jpg I was pleasantly surprised to see the sun rise from the west, as it were lol!! https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...9544ee2dd7.jpg The ground faded below us https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...003970081c.jpg As our plane climbed, the sun got higher as well https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...974a94f1ca.jpg Second sunset of the day for me :-) https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...a7d1031e03.jpg But the scenery outside the plane stayed pretty static all the way https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...16d8de652b.jpg ... through up to ... https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...5b60a082f5.jpg ... Atlanta .... https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...31ee02f433.jpg ... on the landing approach! Now that I have completed this travelog, I can refocus on completing the Europe trip report .... which will be followed by the current trip report/. Teaser: This post is being written from Park City, UT :-) |
