Fantastic pictures of Strangford Lough and I.O.M.

Nice report and photos. What were you drinking?

Flew the reverse (LHR-IAH) last week on the A350 in Club World. The new club suites look pretty similar to the F seat on that 787. The difference would have to be minimal for me to pay up as the Club Suite is excellent

Great tr - strange about the grey steak even if this was C and not F. A very disgraceful entree!
also what was the LHR tax for the mileage flight? Just curious! |
oilfield routes knew them well
Lots of trips to IAH 30 -25 yrs ago.
The British Caledonian Lassies would look after us well going home with an extra malt or 3! Route got taken over by BA on acquisition and the First Menu doesn't look too different on those old DC10's! only got upgraded once though! I used to sing for my supper at least twice a yr at Oilfield Services HQ. - think BHI Flight Length allowed you some kip but the 6 hr time change will always be a killer especially with young kids waiting for you to come home! Mind you this route was nice compared to Aberdeen, Lagos, Dhahran and Moscow in the early Nineties. Pollution from those buses in Moscow was criminal as we set up our Country Services HQ!. don't even get me started on Aeroflot internal flights then out to Siberia & Azerbaijan! what an adventure..... u brought back good memories my friend! Now retired 1 yr and living the dream! Thanks SteveG |

I believe the main difference is the length and the freedom of movement (stuff that gets in the way of arms/elbows etc for tall folks)

It's too bad that BA closed their lounges at IAH. I never understood why they had a separate first/OW Emerald lounge at IAH for a twice daily flight but it was very nice for an afterthought of a station. I managed to finagle my way in there once as I was flying AA F connecting to a CX F ticket.
Flight and food looks nice, aside from that terribly overcooked steak. I imagine Brits would drown it in HP sauce and think it was delicious. |
Good review - it looks nearly as good as business class on Qatar or Cathay ;)
