Random Drug Test; Trip Home

I awoke on Wednesday 7th October in Kingman, Arizona. I phoned up the shipper and got clarity as to where the exact location of the truck was. I returned a call from another company I contract with and learned that I was selected for a random drug test. That company was unable to book me for a test in Kingman that day so a test was booked at a lab in Barstow, California for the following morning. I headed to the plant where the truck was at and was taken inside to the truck and brought the truck out and loaded my gear. Then I headed to to filling station to fuel the car then turned in the rental car. I got Uber to get back to the truck and the car smelled like smoke so I gave the driver a low rating. I got back to the truck and completed the safety inspection and gave copy of inspection sheet to the guard. I was then good to go.

I got started and stopped in Lake Havasu City to take on fuel and eat. Then I continued and crossed the Colorado River into California. I made a brief stop at rest area then made a pit stop in Ludlow, CA before shutting down and spending the night in Barstow, CA.

Thursday after my legal break and safety inspection I headed to the lab for the drug test. I was able to park the truck on the street outside the lab as the car park was too small. I checked in and did the drug test and gave a big enough specimen and was good to go. I got on the 15 south and stopped in Hesperia for fuel and midday rations. Then I continued south and took the 210 west to the 605 south and ran into congestion. I took the 91 west to the 710 south and topped off the fuel at filling station then arrived at receiver for execution of delivery and conclusion of this trip. I ordered Lyft for my ride home to complete this tour of duty.

I remember going through Lake Havasu in 1974 when there was only the bridge and a red phone box.
