We would never be frequent flyers with LS, but we were certainly rather impressed ... in the pair of EXIT seats. Elsewhere on the aircraft, I’m less sure. It’s many, many, years since we did 3-abreast!

Yes, two of them actually.

✘ “Twenty minutes to landing - doesn’t time fly!”. Oh, press another button for a chirpy pre-recorded advert or message. At this point, Jet2 insists that ALL electronic devices are turned off … yes, even our Kindles in ‘airplane mode’. Perhaps their B733s are more sensitive than BA’s A319/320 fleet?

i know air NZ used to insist on all devices off for taxi/take off/landing on their classics (733, retired 2015), so perhaps it’s a classic thing?

There is nothing different about the B733 compared to the B738 series that would require that. Must just be company policy.

I could ask if there even are enough electronics in a 737 classic to be affected by mobile devices, but that might be considered harsh.

I was young and naive back then and therefore accepted the “it’s not as shielded” argument 😉

incidentally on their a320 3 days later electronics on for taxi/takeoff/landing was fine- “only on the 737”. Perhaps the ops manual was approved by the CAA before the advent of airplane mode and given they were retiring soon it was felt too much hassle to get it changed?

I understand some of the issue, but the variability by carrier confuses me.

Whichever, Jet2 was a pretty painless experience and offered some amusing comparisons to BA. ;)

A similar age to the aircraft my relatives flew on.
The thing is, from what my relatives were saying they don't look their age, and are in decent shape inside.

The plane ain't that bad either.

Oh, yes, don't I know it! :D

At least my stalkers are [to date] nice people! ;)

I've just got off a Condor ferry from St Malo to Jersey. After that LS, or U2, or frankly FR would seem like heaven!

Lucky you ... Condor actually operating?

Bienvenu a Jerri!

Oh, indeed! I was faintly hoping for a 'close encounter' with CWS bearing rose petals or chocolates, but on this occasion we just had to tough up and get on with it ... as we do when the chips are down. :D

Not a bad experience, though. Airport a bit dank, with low ceilings.
and a noticeable lack of seating [especially at busy times]. Aircraft and crew certainly at least as good as BA's. ;)
Lack of a glass of fizzy and Lounge access was the only downside, really.
