Huge crowds in the older section of town when we were there, so Id imagine those will only increase.

Very interesting report. Do you know if a hotel car would be able to drive clients from HK to Macao using the bridge?
Also, do you know how close to the check-in area at HKIA a hotel car coming from Macao could drop off its clients?
Thanks

I doubt any hotel cars have made the application to drive on the bridge. I believe the same permit is required for Macau's cars to drive on the bridge (authorizations from Macau, Hong Kong, and China). Not sure whether the Macau vehicle can continue to drive into Hong Kong or only let you off at the port, then you need to catch a bus for the short ride into the airport.

I booked a private car (Toyota Alphard) through my hotel and can report that it was a very expensive (4500 HKD oneway) but smooth experience (I had a lot of luggage).
It took 90 minutes door to door from the Upper House to the Wynn Palace in Macau (and 75 minutes for the return journey to HKIA).
The bridge is quite amazing, it was a great experience.
