We are here right now. Your trip report has been valuable- Sao Miguel Island is stunning! It is one of the most beautiful (even without everything in full bloom) places we have been!

I liked the flowers photo as well.

I had no idea that the Azores were so green and so photogenic.

The flights have been indeed, very full. If you're standby (I'm guessing by the way you worded that sentence), then good luck with the 40-50+ active employees that usually list too. Next summer should be better I'd think.

I guess they must be since the service is returning. Load factors seemed pretty steady throughout the summer too, so that's a good sign.

I'd love to return, specifically to the other islands. The greenness was a bit surprising to me, it just wasn't comparable to any other place in the world I've been to, landscape wise at least.

Glad to know this helped you out. Way better than somewhere like Hawaii in my opinion.

Inspiring TR, the Azores look beautiful. I agree with your last comment being better than Hawaii. Thurs scenery looks beautiful and the history would be fun ri experience. Changes for posting.

Thanks for the report and great photos.

In addition to Ponta Delgada, are there other cities (villages) worth staying for a couple of nights? With good eateries, near hiking trails for twilight photo ops.
