I have found your TR very infirmative.

As background we flew LGW CPT on 29th dec. . Thomas Cook . No complaints
We stayed at the Inn on the Square in central Captown, and moved to Stellenbosch on the 4th
We move to Franchoek on the 9th .
Camps bay on the 11th
fly home 15th

We share your appreciation of the Western Cape.
Oh, a warm welcome to Flyertalk before I forget ... always great to have new members going the community, even if they don't fly BA
Do stick around: it's a great source!

Oh, the Eendracht set! Many users on FT, as both my SA trip reports have revealed ... welcome to the Club!! I'm am sure you're enjoying your stay.

Pigeons ... according to Wiki, the incubation period is 18 days. Now we arrived there on 14 Dec, with them in situ, so they MUST be due. Indeed, that's 22 days, it seems. Give them our best wishes, and I hope that the successfully hatch their little brood that gave us so much pleasure while we were sat out there!

Oh great!! Give them all our best wishes ... the parents worked VERY hard, nurturing those eggs! They must have been laid about the time we arrived.

Pictures .,, if you click ‘Go Advanced’ and then ‘Manage attachments’ when replying, you will see the route to uploading images from your desktop!

This is probably the most intense coverage of 2 pigeon eggs that will ever be seen on FT again!

I had exceeded the 5 post in 24 hour rule, so I had to wait. We have been busy visiting the Stellenbosh kitchen ( I recommend the tempura prawns) and also Oppie Dorp (great calamari). Tonight we viait the Fat Butcher restauarnt which gets booked very quickly. We have also had 2 delightful lunches in the Horticultural gardens restauarnt (Bobotie is good) .
We have also spent a day on the Vine Hopper HOHO .. Eastern route, visiting Lanzerac, Neil Ellis (stunning views and big wines), Camberly (quirky) and finally Boschendal where we had a pre booked picnic, you can opt for a sit at a table picnic , or a blanket one, we opted for the former. It was glorious, and the excellent wine tasted just right.
I will try to attach a pic of the picnic site
Tomorrow we try the Northen route HOHO stopping at Warwick for lunch.

The OP is right about Stellenbosch, it is charming, and the Eendracht hotel has everything you need
