Once again a pleasant read. I will try myself the JFK and QF lounges next week. The things we do to keep our cards..
By the way, any strategy in place with the new AF Flying Blue?
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks very much Genius1 for reading and for your astute comments. Hadn't thought about that PIT lounge being a possible BA lounge from years (decades?) ago.
Thank you kcmd. Unfortunately, not sure it makes any difference any more as the US3 just continue their relentless race to the bottom.
Thanks milesaddict. I'm really not sure what to think about the FlyingBlue changes as I haven't had the time or patience at this point to try to understand what the heck they are trying to do. But I have decided to clean out my account as I've just booked two LAX-CDG 77W La Premičre tickets for next year.

Delta Sky Club at HNL
In the "Overseas" terminal, not much has changed in the last 30 years.
Always fun to use the open air walkway to the main part of the terminal. Great plane spotting.
And the nice garden between the main part of the terminal and the two walkways to the gates.
The Delta Sky Club is located across from Gate 13.
Friendly staff in a comfortable although dated lounge with the usual island decor.
Pretty good food and beverage spread for a domestic lounge.
Since the bar tender was making mai tais, I didn't want to be rude. LOL.

At around T-55, I headed towards the gate, although my first stop was the garden where I wanted to check out the Priority Pass lounge...
... which was inexplicably closed between 1:30p and 2:00p.
OK, I don't think I missing much here.
And then to my gate, where boarding started a few minutes later.

Ugh, the same configuration and tight First Class seating as on last week's ATL-SNA flight.
Nearly 6 hours in this new cabin and seat is borderline painful.
Service was excellent including PDB mai tais.
Shortly after take-off, showtime, DL style.
In addtion to crappy seats and tight legroom, this plane has mainland IFE. So no Wifi and no live TV. Tease all you want...
... but this is all you get.
Unlike last week's "dinner" flight, tonight I get an actual meal, choice of beef medallions or some kind of pasta. Although one tray serving including the frozen yogurt.
Salad was simple and very nice, unlike AA's disgusting lawn clippings.
OK, that looks pretty good.
Perfectly medium rare. This was really good. ^
The frozen yogurt was tasty and still reasonably frozen for being delivered on the tray.
From the snack basket which came around a couple of times.
Some 5 hours later, over LA.
Bottom line: Great service, great food, crappy plane.
Thanks for following along on this report.
