Two suggestions for for posting a report.
 

I think these would help all of us out:

1) Put the airline(s) flown in the title

2) Put the class(es) of service in the title

Adding these will help incredibly when doing a search.

This I am not in agreement with. Codes can be found in many places. Full cities may take up too much space in the title (if there are lots of cities listed).

I couldn't agree more zrs70. Especially when "*RTW - MEL-SIN-BKK-SIN-AMS-CPH-GOT-FRA-TLV-FRA-YYZ-YUL-LGA-IAD-LAX-AKL-MEL in Y" becomes: "*RTW - Melbourne-Singapore-Bangkok-Singapore-Amsterdam-Copenhagen-Gothenburg-Frankfurt-Tel Aviv-Frankfurt-Toronto-Montreal-New York Laguardia-Washington Dulles-Los Angeles-Auckland-Melbourne" http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I would respectfully disagree with the both the initial and the use-the-airport-code suggestions. Instead, I’d propose that the author of a trip report provide a title that best suits the report and its intended audience.

I count myself among those FlyerTalkers who are as much (or more) interested in destinations as in the flights to those destinations. That is, I (we) generally perceive getting to and from as a means to an end, not an end in itself. Consequently, some trip reports in this forum focus on being there rather than getting there. So, if 90% of my trip report is about the sociocultural grandeur of Dubuque and the rest about my unremarkable flights on Ozark Airlines, I would want to be able to entitle my trip report appropriately without catching the opprobrium of The Rules Kommittee.

Now there are certainly occasions when I would wish to include airlines and airports in my title. Although I recognize that the wizened veterans of FlyerTalk will surely know which cities are represented by FDH and FMO (to choose 2 that are on the current first page but that are mysteries to this typist), I also recognize that some FlyerTalkers are novices and might not know those codes, or maybe even SVO or STN. So if I think that novices might be interested in my report, I'd prefer the option of spelling out the city/airport name.

On the other hand, when a report focuses on one or more airline and its/their product in a certain class of service, then zrs70's suggestion makes sense.

I am of the opinion that it is best left to the author of each report how he chooses to address his subject matter and that includes the title. I have seen some fantastic creative reports here that deal with sharing the entire experience of a trip and not simply a description of the service on the flights over. These are often deserving of more subjective titles. To discourage this would deprive the forum of some of its best creativity.

Hence, I would respectfully disagree with zrs70 and continue to maintain that everyone is free to title their reports exactly how they choose.
