Oh please, there's nothing snobbish about this report at all! We all feel a little disappointed when one minute we have a nice empty seat next to us for a long haul flight, then the next minute, it's gone! It's really not a big deal and I certainly don't think Buster CT1K is being snobbish and if he is, so what? He's flying in First Class, IMHO, he can be snobbish if he chooses to be!

Also, how are you making the assumption that the family and the single guy upgraded to F were upgraded from Y and not from J, as would be the norm on most carriers? LH offers three class service on transcontinental flights and it's quite rare on LH to get a Y-F upgrade over Y-J.

Buster CT1K, great report! It's nice to read about European carriers from time to time. Are the Bogner sweatshirts really nice to keep? I'm not familiar with them. Also, do they come in more than one size?

I look forward to reading the SIN-FRA-JFK reports. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Yes, one size only.
The ARE nice to keep.
The blue ones are currently replace by gray ones with zipper and "LH First Class" written inside instead of outside, so you can also wear them on the street.

Perhaps not of snobbery but God forbid that someone as important as flying First Class from USA should have to wait more than 3 minutes to check in.

"Do you know who I am?" syndrome sets in.

Buster: Great trip report...

and I strongly believe that First Class customers should have separate, priority boarding.

Go ahead, dissenters, fire away

I was thinking this thread would die – but now I will help it along! First of all, if this trip report was snobbish I wonder what that makes me???

Candidly, I am really sick and tired of this American attitude (I am American and proud of it so I get to make the comment in this way) that everyone is equal – god forbid that someone who pays 10,000 for a ticket thinks that the airline should take care of them before the 300 ticket – GET REAL – they should stop mid sentence if a paying F PAX needs help – this is called the reality of business however good business judgment is something that does seem to be lacking among airlines.

Anyway – if this report was snobbish – then long live the snobs since the meek have NEVER really inherited the earth.

Thanks for the update on LH F.

There has never been separate boarding of C and F on LH. You board whenever you feel like it. I now get on early in FRA if flying to the US because of the separate security. Otherwise, I try to be the last one on....

For some reason the best LH F experiences have tended to be to the central and east North America, with LAX and SIN tending to be less than hoped for according to other trip reports.

Is this snob-speak for "it made me feel a bit pissed (*) so I forgot about being pissed (+) at the guy next to me"? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

(*) in the English sense
(+) in the American sense

No, it isn't.

Oh well - so obviously I am not worthy to understand you trip reports. I guess that saves me the trouble of reading them in the future.

Well all I can say is that I look very much forward to reading them in the future.

Tout que je peux dire est que je les suis beaucoup dans l'attente à la lecture à l'avenir.

(repeated in French for snob appeal - I may as well deserve the badge if it is going to be pinned on!)

Great. Looking forward to your next report.

I quite enjoyed your report.
More! More!

As the snob that I am, I also enjoy reports written by fellow snobs.
