It's about time. MRT service to SIN has been promised for quite a while. The fare is inexpensive, but 30 minutes to downtown seems quite long, especially when compared to HKG's Airport Express from CLK to Kowloon or Hong Kong.

There are ~ 11 stops between Changi and City Hall Interchange so it will take a while to get into town. Additionally, for UA flyers (arriving anyway) this service will not be of use as it will have stopped service for the night by the time we land. Not sure what time it starts running in the AM so it's hard to say if one could use it to get to Changi in time for the UA departure(s)?

what you're talking about is the Green line to Pasir Ris, and the extension will branch off toward Changi (i forget which stop it branches out from).
MRT hours are approx 0600 - midnight. :-( i hope they will have extended hours for the airport run (maybe an 'airport - city hall express' from midnight to 6am?) |
Ask, and the answer seems to appear "...the service operates from about 5.30 am until after 11 pm."
http://straitstimes.asia1.com.sg/pri...01841,00.html? The previous story put the last train to depart from the airport at 11:18pm. |
