Cafe du Monde
 

What could be better than a doughnut and coffee at a Krispy Kreme? Why, beignets and cafe au lait at the Cafe du Monde, of course!

This is why I was very pleasantly surprised when I spotted a Cafe du Monde just outside my hotel (Crowne Plaza) in Tokyo. Tokyo? Yes, a Cafe du Monde in Tokyo!

Anyway, same great beignets here as in New Orleans. Very popular place. I`ve been there twice already!

Yeah, but I'm not really sure if they put enough sugar on those beignets, you think? And they have great coffee too!

For another interesting donut experience in Tokyo, there is at least one "Mister Donut", which bills itself as the "world's best coffee and fresh donuts" in Akihabara.

They even have donuts filled with curry. (ugh)

Flew Vegas-Denver on Monday morning and the woman next to me had a big box of Krispy Kremes that she shared with her friend (but not me) - must admit that they looked tasty. The outlet is located inside the Excalibur Hotel, in case anybody gets a craving while in Sin City.
