I've really enjoyed reading about your travels! Some of those Africa adventures were really wild.

I do think Taiwan is a real country -- and it was until Nixon came along -- but you've been there, too. I would go ahead and just count it.

Give my blog a read - did a post on that last week. Short story, I plan to take a bit more time to go in depth for places I really liked...and try and get to some more quasi-autonomous places. Thinking Western Sahara, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia next year perhaps...

A question if you are in the mood...

What were the moments where you were actually frightened? You have been to so many insane places, and the Street in Syria with the Kurds on the one end and the Syrian army kidnapping foreigners at the other end. Or using binoculars to look into Iran (?) and being chased down by border guards... Those seem like moments were normal seasoned travelers might need to change their shorts, or run away in in terror.

care to share any? (assuming there are some, and you dont just have Ice water in your veins!!)
