Real Time Trip Report (PIT - YYZ - YVR - KIX - HND - NRT - HKG - SIN - DEL - and on)

I'm going to try and post a semi - real time trip report for this trip (PIT-YYZ-YVR-KIX-HND-NRT-HKG-SIN-DEL-BOM-LHR-PIT). All flights are in
Business class (all except the last two segments are on *A). For those
of you who are interested I'm writing this on a HP Jornada 680 Handheld
using ATT GlobalNetworks to access the net.

segment 1 PIT - YYZ AC 677 26 NOV - Equip = CRJ

Because of Thanksgiving this was a very quiet Friday at PIT. Check in
took less than two minutes since there were no other pax in line. As I
arrived at PIT 40 minutes before dep after check in I went to the book
store and then straight to the gate for an on time departure. Only 6
pax on board today so seating was not a problem Weather was not
good for the flight as there was constant rain and low ceilings. The
flying skidoo bounced and bumped around for the entire 36 minute
flight. But we landed safely at YYZ and taxied over to the barns for
deplaning. Immigration and customs were no problem and I grabbed a
taxi for the Park Hyatt in downtown Toronto. Trip to the hotel ended
up taking over an hour because of traffic. Checked in and received my
free upgrade to a south tower corner suite. (this cert was given by
the hotel in April when they first opened) The Park Hyatt is
definitely one of the best hotels in town. Location is great and the
rooms (especially the suites in the old tower) are really nice. (if
anybody wants more info on the hotels pelase let me know)

segment 2 YYZ - YVR AC 137 27 NOV - Equip = 767-200ER

Left the hotel around 3 PM and reached Pearson in a half hour. Check
in at the Executive class check in took a minute . Once again no one
in line and a very quiet check in area. after check in I had to go to
the INSPASS center to renew my card. this has to be the most efficient
US govt service. in and out of the office with new card in 15 minutes
Go to the domestic departures are and into the Maple Leaf Lounge.
Find a nice quiet cubicle in the Xerox Business Center and surf the net
and make a few calls. Leave for the gate around 530 for the scheduled
615 departure. Boarding on time and efficient. Elites members and
Business class preboard followed by general boarding. very light load
- 14 in Business and @ 45 in eco. Coat taken and offered a choice of
drinks before taxi (in glass wine glass no plastic here!). captain
announces a fairly long 5 hr 20 min flight time. we take off on time
and head west on a direct routing. Unfortunately for those who are
interested I fell alsleep over Thunder Bay and missed out on the meal
service (by choice). they did have a nice Cal Zinfandel. Meal choices
incl Steak, chicken, and veggie. Slept soundly until 45 min to
arrival. Flight was very smooth and comfortable. arrived in YVR 10
min early (actual flight time was 5 hrs) and collected bags (priority
tags worked!!) and out to the shuttle in 15 minutes. Took the shuttle
over to the Hilton in Richmond and received an upgrades corner suite
which is VERY nice - all for C$89!

Well time for sleep now - hope this wasn't too boring. Any suggestions
/ comments?

Sorry for the not so real time reporting. I'll be posting the YVR .... SIN parts later today.

How are you getting from LHR-PIT? Or is there a stop in between?

Wow, you have quite a trip ahead! I sent you an e-mail, so if you could check your e-mail when you have a change, that would be great!

Thanks,

Thanks for the real time report!

Can you expand a bit about food on your YVR to KIX run? I am flying AC J class from YVR to TPE in a couple of weeks, and want to find out what is being served on flights outbound from YVR.

It will be nice to read about the regional flights in Asia too. Which airline are you taking for NRT-HKG-SIN-DEL?

Thanks,
Carfield
