DFW-IAH-HOU

Two hours after landing from COS-IAH-DFW, I was back on a plane heading to IAH and HOU.

Enjoyed the President's Club again. Bumped me to FC without asking. http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Sat at the bar watching a football game. On way out, Patriots trailing 21-0. By the time I got the next update, they'd won 31-28. Yay! (With apologies to Indianpolis fans).

IAH-HOU was in a Beechcraft 1900. I think the # designation was the year this flying antique was produced. http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Stayed at Hilton at Hobby. YUCK! Originally given a room in the "Cabana" wing. I think the Geneva Convention covers places like this. Elevator sounds and rides like a freight elevator. Hallway reeks of mildew. TV in room broken.

Got a new room. Facing the airport, across from ice machine. Fortunately I can sleep through a hurricane, but REALLY noisy, even by my standards.

At check out, I am told NO FF MILES. I booked the room THROUGH THEM. Definitely a letter coming their way.

Next day, returning to DFW. Saw one of the funniest example of poor planning. A partition was put up at the top of the escalator. DIRECTLY at the top. So from the bottom, it is hysterical.

Same Beechcraft back. IAH-DFW flight in coach. Staying at the Hyatt East. 4:30 wakeup call for my flights home - gotta go!

Wonder if that Hilton is a former Holiday Inn? A friend of mine claims that all Holiday Inns have mildew as a design feature. http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Nope, The Hobby Hilton has been there forever, and the mildew smell is just the Houston humidity infiltrating the place.

After staying at the Hobby Hilton once and only once, I concluded that the charm of the hotel was matched only by that of the front desk staff. If only you got FF points for surliness experienced!
