LAX-LAS (DL)
 

Flew DL on one of their few remaining flights from LAX to LAS. Flight was unremarkable, but did enjoy the LAX CRC very much.

First, the long-time bartender there (her name escapes me now) makes the best Bloody Mary's I've had. Lots of Tobasco and horseradish...even the celery salt.

Second, the employees at the CRC are running a contest for guests to guess when the renovations will begin and end. They had a rendering of the remodeled club and a sign DL had posted last winter stating: "The Delta Crown Room will close for renovations in Spring 1999 and will re-open in the Fall. During the renovations, CRC members will have the use of a temporary CR outside the security checkpoint."

Obviously, nothing has happened yet. The prize for the winner is a four piece set of Crown Room pilsner glasses. The staff claims that they have no idea when the construction will begin.
