phl-sju-dom-sju-phl

Sunday, Mar 28 - phl-sju-dom

AA 757 phl-sju was overbooked, and agents were offering $700 for volunteers to give up their seats, 4-5 people took the offer. I passed, b/c I would have ended up over-nighting in sju, and I didn't want to bother. Flight departed gate about 10 minutes late, and arrived sju ~20 min early. Crew were efficient with meal service (2nd row coach), and circulated through cabin on ocassion. They also gave the "we're primairly here for your safety" annoucement.

AA Eagle, sju-dom was the Super ATR, and we departed sju ~20 min late, because "one of the flight attendents didn't show up yet." Flight was mostly full, and had a quick beverage and sandwich snack. Arrived dom about 5 min early. (The approach to dom is something, weaving through several mountains)

Sunday, April 4 - dom-sju-phl
Back on the AA Eagle, Super ATR again, this time, almost full, with about 2 empty seats, and people tried to bring just about everything, including the kitchen sink on board. Departed on time, and arrived sju ~15 min early, the flight was choppy, and we had a beverage and chips for a snack. sju customs, you know the story with all the AA flights in there around the same time, so line'em up.

For the sju-phl segment, the agent in dom said the best seat he could give on the 757 was 28A, so as I waited in line at the gate desk, they made an announcement offering, at first $300 then up to $600 for volunteers to give up seats. I offered to purchase sticker-less upgrades, freeing up my coach seat, agent said first was full, but she'd put me on standby. A little latter, I saw her talking to her supervisor, he nodded to me, and I ended up getting 1F, comp'd, no charge. Meal service included choice of: salad; salmon, turkey, or pasta; and an ice cream sunday for dessert. We departed sju ~30 min late (behind a BA 777)and arrived phl ~10 min early.

(Catman, you know AA has Dr. Pepper on board? I think I recall seeing somewhere that it's your favorite?)

OMNI for Burkey: Pepsi's my favorite but I do enjoy a Doctor Pepper. I normally wait till I get to Texas to get the freshly made stuff.

Nice trip report. Even more concise than mine!
