DUB New US Pre-clearance Lounge "A World's First"

This is my first proper post on flyertalk - I've been a long time lurker!

The new US pre-clearance lounge opened at Dublin Airport this morning (18th July 2016). The lounge is located after US pre-clearance. Dublin Airport are calling it a 'world's first' in that it is the closest lounge to an active runway in the world. And I have to agree that it is very very close!!

The lounge itself is very impressive, so much light, spacious, and the best food offerings I've seen to date at Dublin Airport lounges. Compared to the regular DAA lounge I've used in the past there are enhanced options in terms of pastries, scones, bagels, smoothies, juices; and even hot food in the form of sausage sandwiches. Not sure what the afternoon and evening offerings will comprise of yet.

The lounge is open to business class passengers flying to the US on Delta, United, AA, and Aer Lingus.

I think this lounge is an excellent investment by Dublin Airport and should help to drive their strategy even more of Dublin becoming a top choice for connecting to the US. In the past I've struggled with balancing spending time in the lounge and rushing to go through US pre-clearance as it's hard to call what the queues might be like. Inevitably I've ended up spending lots of time sitting at the gate. Now it's just a case of getting all of the formalities out of the way and doing some plane spotting next to the runway in the lounge! Enjoy the photos and short videos.

for arrivals > https://www.dublinairport.com/at-the...tinum-services

wonder if other airports with pre-clearance have room for lounges

Does it really? When I was there in September the only lounge after CBP was the Etihad biz/first lounge.

This looks like a really nice lounge. I've never been to DUB though. Wonder if it will eventually become Priority Pass accessible....

OP - Thanks for the report.

Do you know if this lounge accepts elite traveling on economy with the respective airlines as well?

Thanks for posting this. Certainly looks a step (or two or three) above the Aer Lingus lounge.

US Pre-clearance in Dublin is a dream. No more having to budget three hours for a connecting flight in the USA.

I think I spotted Waldo in the third image!

In that case I misunderstood the intent of your question. It's the Etihad lounge that I was referring to.

You're welcome! Looks like it does accept elite according to Dublin Airport website:

The lounge is only available to transatlantic passengers holding business class tickets and airline club cards. For queries regarding lounge access please contact your airline directly.

Thanks for pointing out, OP.

Unfortunately, my view is different from yours. I don't think elites are qualified.

Club cards usually indicate club membership.
