Smile Hilton Rose Hall Montego Bay

Our trip was from Chicago (ORD) to Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ) from Dec. 24 to January 1, 2016.

Our slideshow:

Any and all thumbs up are appreciated!

8 nights at the Hilton Rose Hall for 60,000 per night or 480,000 for all 8 nights.
We flew American Airlines from ORD for 65,000 and $106 each direct non stop!
We did pay $25 each way for an extra bag.

We stayed Dec. 24 to Jan 1. It was a great trip and they do Christmas very well!

The drinks are the real deal, yes, we tipped the barstaff as well as the chambermaids and felt we got a good deal on both. The nightly entertainment is some of the best in the Caribbean.

Thank you!

I'm normally not a big fan of video trip reports, but liked this one! Are you not a Hilton elite? You could have knocked off 60k from the redemption with even Silver status, as part of their 5th night free benefit.

Looks like a good time with the family! I have fond memories of my annual Caribbean vacations with my family as a kid.

Thank you.

We are actually Diamond Hilton members but for the all inclusive you don't get the extra kicker of the 5th night free.

Glad you liked the video, thank you,

Mike

Nice! How was the food? We'll be there in March.

The food is pretty good!
Breakfasts are great. My wife always had the salmon and I always had an omelette. Sylvester, the Omlette chef is a real machine pumping out fantastic omelettes and egg dishes.
I love the Oxtail for dinner in the buffet.
The specialty restaurants are good as well. Luna di Mare was our favorite.
They will probably have an outside fest while you are there and it is fun and festive.
If you are Diamond they give you one free day of the cabana, which normally goes for $100. It is fun and comes with free concierge service. We found our concierge to be a bit slow (not mentally challanged :-)
Mangoes, the cafe by the pool is so-so, nothing to write about.
The seaside grill was nice and food was tasty but service was slow.

Overall the Hilton food is definitely pretty good for an all-inclusive.

Great video OP... I know Rose Hall is not known for great beaches, how was the beach at this resort?

Interesting [and brief] TR format - I quite liked that!

Not our sort of place, though ... we prefer "Adults Only" resorts

The beach was nothing special for sure. Other than walk along the beach we didn't go in above our knees although many people did. The added a large section of beach to the property since we went in 2009. Many chairs were added by doing that and thereby make the overall property seem much less crowded.

You certainly wouldn't go to this resort if you were looking for a good beach!!

As a kid [11/12] we lived in Jamaica [in Kingston], and we went on holiday to MoBay [can't recall where we stayed]. I got my Scouts' swimming badge for swimming the length of the MoBay Beach
