KL-Hong Kong CX724
After 4 days of holiday in Kuala Lumpur, it was time for me to return back to the UK via Hong Kong.
I arrived at KLIA around 2pm. I spent some time at 1 cafe in the main terminal building, checked-in my luggage and make my way to the satellite terminal. Managed to do some spotting at the satellite terminal SV's Triple 7 http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psm4asiqur.jpg http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...pstgxkgqr0.jpg MHs http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...pso933bojk.jpg And soon, it was time for boarding Airline:Cathay Pacific Airways Flight: CX724 Aircraft: B777-200ER Class: Economy Origin: Kuala Lumpur (KUL) Destination: Hong Kong (HKG) ETD: 5:40pm ETA: 9:30pm http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psjrnvuc5g.jpg My seat http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...pseitsxg35.jpg Cabin during boarding http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psclwqyuma.jpg The 2 seats next to me were soon occupied by a couple most probably from Iran http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...pselojahxl.jpg The cabin when everyone settled down. This flight was 90% full. http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psqo5yvdt0.jpg MH's A330-300 next to us http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...pse7n5ggmw.jpg The safety demo was played on the screen and cabin crews make the final check of the cabin before we started to push back. http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...pslq6cjzfc.jpg Taxing to the runway http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...pstjktgoxi.jpg KLIA2 http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psqexqcws4.jpg We raced with D7 to get airborne http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psjkswosci.jpg And we won the match! http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...pssdlvmnq9.jpg Flying into the cloud http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psoanmmp6k.jpg http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psu0xfiwdi.jpg http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps9n4z2slz.jpg 30 minutes into the flight, cabin crews walked down the aisle and distributed peanuts and drinks http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psceqxjrc5.jpg Finally, it was dinner time. There were 2 options between fish and chicken. I chose the latter. The Fried Rice with Sweet & Sour Chicken was to tasty and flavorful. http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psnvnre6hs.jpg Outside, the sky was getting darker. http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psq1yk6a8s.jpg Soon, there was an announcement from the cockpit informing us that we were about to land in Hong Kong shortly. The cabin was dimmed in preparation for landing. http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psloc5vegl.jpg Approaching Hong Kong http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps9388rdql.jpg We safely landed at HKG behind the schedule. http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psdhfq2hko.jpg HKG was such a busy airport. The staffs who were handling connecting passengers at HKG were super slow. As a result, I had to run to the gate where the boarding process of my next flight, BA026 to LHR already started. http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psrplgksaz.jpg Conclusion: This was my first time flying with CX and personally, I think they are an OK carrier. Not really fantastic and not too bad either. In my flight, only 1 male crew who served my row was friendly, warm and energetic while the rest of them just wanted finish their job quickly. The meal on CX was very nice though. Thank you for reading my very first TR here on Flyertalk. Up next, I will post some photos during my trip in KL |
Nice TR. Great to see familiar sights around KL.

Some photos of the local foods. From the street stalls to a fine-dining restaurant.

There is no doubt that KL offers 1 of the best entertainments in the region. Unfortunately, throughout my stay in KL, I walked a lot during the day, so I was pretty exhausted by the time i got back to my hotel in the evening. Only on the final night I managed to experience the city's nightlife.
This is "Helipad Lounge". Located on the 34th floor of KH Tower in Jalan Sultan Ismail, it was a landing platform for helicopters that transformed into a fun bar with superb 360-degree view of KL metropolis! http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psjafxhbmw.jpg http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psjqedhni1.jpg The twin towers as seen from the Helipad Lounge http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psq17ed1ox.jpg The twin towers and a full moon http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps7lmxm7bp.jpg KL Tower, another Kuala Lumpur's main icon http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psy63txofw.jpg Imagine how close we were to all these mega skyscrapers http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps8bx1vqyz.jpg http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...psvmyifiqu.jpg And the next day was the day where I returned back to the UK via Hong Kong with CX. Overall, KL is really an amazing city! 4 days weren't enough to visit all the attractions and enjoy the nightlife it has to offer. I would like to return back someday and stay much longer. Cheers! |
