British Airways Open Day – Saturday 6 June 2015

BEWARE - AVGEEK PORN BELOW - VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED!!!

Yet another trip report on the BA open day which happened at Heathrow on 6 June. There are already some nice reports which you can read:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip-...pe-f-wwcf.html
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip-...ne-2015-a.html
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip-...ne-2015-a.html

Also a very grateful thanks from me to LondonAndy who did get a ticket and kindly offered to guest me in – otherwise I may not have been able to go.

Here is the thread on the BAEC board all about the open day:http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...-6th-june.html

So this report will be light on comments and heavy on photos. Hopefully you will enjoy it!

On Friday evening I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn at Hatton Cross and was greeted by this view in the morning.

And once I met up with LondonAndy and FastTrak2Elite inside we went.

An economy toilet

Very large overhead bins

Monitoring station

Double double deckers

Loving those GE90-115B1 engines

747-400 – still a very attractive plane

Looking in to a RB211-524H

Heathrow fire service

And a few of T5 on the way home on Sunday

So, I hope you enjoyed this trip report. I will admit that it is really AvGeek porn – hopefully you can control your urges when looking at the photos

It was a really great day and I loved it. Hopefully BA will run one again next year.

Great photos, glad to have been able to guest you in. LTNPhobia will probably be in touch asking you to take one of the photos down (you may be able to guess which one.....).

Fantastic photos KARFA. I'm envious as I wish that I'd had the opportunity to attend. I can't imagine many other opportunities where you get to walk around a fleet of different aircraft like that.

It is nice. No windwos, and quite a low ceiling so you do have to bed to walk along, but the bed looks nice. No IFE though for the CC.

Thanks for the comments. Yes, great to get so close to many aircraft and walk inside, around, and under them. Although there have been BA open days in the past (last one was 2011), this was my first one. I really do hope this happens again next year.

Excellent weather as well which helped.
