Why I think Singapore Airlines Business Class is the best in the world

I recently flew ZRH-SIN in business class on the SQ A380, This was easily one of my most favorite experiences as the crew was just perfect and so was the food. I highly recommend the Book the Cook option ex-ZRH, very qualitative selection although the on board options are also very good.

The video below is my rendition of this flight, a mix of written and live oral commentary with photos and mostly video, I hope you enjoy it!

Only just started the video but I'm really enjoying it so far. It still amazes me how SQ business looks so much better than F on most other airlines. Someday. :)

Thank you for posting. I look forward to watching the rest.

The greatest airline the world has ever known?

1 x 2 x 1 really wide seats look very comfy!

Enjoyed the awesome HD video report! Thanks!

I flew the same product back in August and I do agree it is the best. The seat can almost feel too wide at times though.

I agree, there is no competition. SQ business is the best out there and put many other's F to shame.

Cathay and Asiana are two airlines off the top of my head that I'd rank in front of SQ for business class comfort and service. I'm sure there are more.

SQ didn't do themselves any favors with the "square" seat that you can't recline and need to flip over into a bed. They are good, but not the best.

Fly Oman Air A330-200

No First Class so Business Class is the top level on a 2 class aircraft.

Seats are IMHO equivalent of most First Class

Is that a stain on the front side bin? ;)

Excellent video TR, Wilko Pali Sedef.
Kudos for getting some Dom in J, who said being a travel blogger doesn't come with perks...
Enjoyed your narration, great "American" accent for a Frenchman... :D

Well done!^

I've flown in SQ J and JL J and find JL to be superior. JL's seat reclines into a bed (you don't have to flip it over) and the foot space is much wider. JL's catering also blows SQ out of the water. The only area where SQ wins is IFE.

Oman Air's business class looks very underwhelming. No privacy, old seats (angled flat), small screens for IFE.

Anyway, this trip report was interesting! If only SQ were flying anywhere I need to go! Thanks for that :)

Thanks all for your comments! Of course everyone has their own preferences for sure and the opinion expressed is my own solely. Why I think SQ wins boils down to the personal space you get. Yes all these other airlines have full flat beds but in my opinion they are far too narrow, I'm a big guy so width is important. I slept on SQ in both the seats at the bulkhead and the ones with the cubby hole and both were very comfortable.

Having to pull the seat to a bed is a perk for me. Why? Because I flew Thai's A380 in business last year and there's nothing more annoying than hearing the sound of 60+ seats reclining back and forth in the middle of the night lol. Here no motor, no noise! I do agree however that the seat is inferior to others in lounging positions, that however did not bother me :)

Catering is a personal affair, I've never flown Asiana ut from what I saw it wasn't impressive, I've had less than stellar food on SQ which you will see in future reports, but the offering on this flight to me was awesome, the food was simply sublime, I mean where else in J would you get Balik Salmon and Dom (OK the Dom was a bonus :) )

I also like that there are no trays on SQ, it really feels like First Class to me, and also being at the back of the plane where it is less crowded the service is just that much better.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the report, I had a bit of a cold so sometimes my voice sounds weird haha...

More to ocme!
