DOCTORS are the WORST PATIENTS: TK J, AI J trip to NE India

Well hello there, my AWEESOOMMEEE FT'ers! Welcome to my 2nd TR. I have always been a bit of a procrastinator when it comes to writing a TR, and I usually put it off saying it's a lot of work. However, i have decided to finally write my second one. So, let's get started.

Anybody, who is remotely related to a medical professional, would probably guess what I am about to write just by reading the title! For FT'ers, who have no idea what I am talking about, let me tell you this, a doc is really a God-send when you have them in your family and you fall sick! From special treatments in their offices to the hospitals they work in, you feel like a STAR, and you wish to be in that 'CARE' phase for as long as possible. I know I did ! However, when they fall sick, it is a NIGHTMARE for those involved in taking care of ‘em!
My parents are surgeons, BOTH of ‘em! If that was not enough, they are super-specialist surgeons, and senior consultants to BOOT. Private Practice!! **Yes, I am extremely proud of them** Travelling often. And, I know what you FT’ers are thinking, ooh, what programs are they a part of? What status/alliance? Well let me tell you this, they always choose convenience and schedule over everything else. And my mom HATES flying (I know!!). But, they always buy last minute tickets, most of ‘em fully flexible/refundable. Just for fun, I signed my dad up for LH M&M, and I made sure he put in the number during his bookings, and, in 3 months, he went from peon to SEN! He’ll easily be HON before the end of the year.
Anyways, continuing, last November, he had abdominal pain, and he wanted to shoo it off, but my mom got him admitted in the hospital for a night. But, the doctors that attended upon him said it was nothing serious and he was discharged. However, in January this year, he had another episode of pain abdomen, and my mom gathered a team of docs, who did every diagnostic tests imaginable, and they concluded that he had appendicitis. I now know that it is not that serious, nevertheless, I wanted to be with them. And I FREAKED when my mom called to give me the news!
I know, it is becoming too medical-related! What is this, The Cardio-Thorasic Journal? Haha… So, I started looking for flights. Before that, I asked my parents an important question: “What part of the world will you guys be in?” Answer: Guwahati, Assam, INDIA! Then, my planning started.
Initially, I wanted to BOOK a flight ASAP, and reach my destination at the shortest amount of time. However, when my mom told me that the surgery was scheduled for February, I started playing around with the flights and dates.

So, this is what my final itinerary looked like

CLT-ATL-IAD//DCA-DTW-CLT on DL F

IAD-IST-DEL-IST-IAD on TK J

DEL-GAU-DEL on AI J

I applied for a TK Elite *G match as DL PM (ST E+) and was initially given membership till 2017! And after this trip, it's extended two more years, till 2019!! Take that SKYMILES!!
