Video Trip Report: United's First 787-9 Dreamliner: LAX-IAH (BusinessFirst)

United Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner

N38950 / 0950 (cn 36402/181)

Flight Date: October 7, 2014

Operating as UA1125

Seat: 5A

Tracker: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/U...430Z/KLAX/KIAH

Routing: HOLTZ9 TRM BLH J169 TFD J50 ELP J2 FST J138 SAT TEJAS2

As of the flight date, this was the only active 787-9 in the United States, which the pilot actually announces right before push. Thanks to the amazing flight crew and staff, you supplied me with an awesome experience! It sure was a nice smooth ride up at FL430! United Airlines' Boeing 787-9 seats 252 passengers with a cabin configuration that features 48 flat bed BusinessFirst seats, 88 Economy Plus seats, and 116 Economy Class seats.

This particular aircraft's first flight was on July 11, 2014 & delivered to United on September 16, 2014.

The cost was an absolute steal...the whole experience, which included this flight to IAH, First Class on a B739ER to AUS, and then AUS to LAX on a CRJ7 in coach, was only a total of $370, only $199 if you wanted all coach. The breakfast was fantastic, and the multiple Baileys Irish Creams didn't hurt

If there are any questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks for watching!

Just a quick bump, my trip report seemed to have started off buried a few pages back.

Very nice, unbelievable on how quiet those engines are, too funny abut duck dynasty being on board!

Wow, this is the first time I see a 60fps Youtube movie. Well, I'm assuming that 1080p60 stands for 60fps.

Nice report, well done!

Yeah, the engines actually seemed louder at idle & spool up than departure power. It was shocking.

I've never actually watched Duck Dynasty before, but I knew they were from that show, due to their commercials. The Flight Attendant seemed quite impressed to have them on-board.

Thanks for watching, and for the reply!

Yeah, this video was shot and produced at 60FPS, YouTube has always just played videos at 30, even those shot at 60. It's a welcome change, seems to run a little more fluid this way.
