This is by far the best forum on FT - thanks to all the writers and photographers. True, many authors write reports to show off and boost their own egos - but this is not bad at all. It is the ego thing that makes the supply of great trip reports sustainable :D

Other forums help with technicalities - this one gives the inspiration!

For my work life, the trip reports forum meant several months of lost productivity in total, but also a lot of motivation, so I like to think its net effect is positive ;)

If you don't want to read trip reports....stay out of the largest trip report forum on the internet?

Thanks back at djvand and others for their kind appreciation^

For an infrequent TR poster like myself, if even one or two people appreciate the time and effort (writing, editing, taking pix and ignoring stares and glares while at it, figuring out how to upload them, and the actual uploading), they're then well-spent :)

Here's to many more fab TRs to come!

Its always great to read what other people think about places and experiences they have had, lets face it there's not many of us who have the time or money to travel everywhere so seeing what others choose to do is always fun and entertaining.

If you don't like what someone is saying then its pretty easy to choose not to read it too so you don't have to put up with anything if you choose not to

Everything you read on here is just a thinly veiled "look at me I'm cool I flew First Herpderp Class thread" LMAO.

Most TR's consist of nothing but photos of food at the airport, food in the lounges, food on the plane, shots of their legs & shoes, plane seats, hotel rooms... the list goes on.
Seriously all these "intrepid globetrotters" do is EAT! Do they do anything other than EAT?? It's funny when some even have the audacity to complain about how small and uncomfortable the seats are (stop eating).

Where is the real sense of adventure?
Get a backpack, get your hands dirty, go on a multi-day hike, get explosive diarrhea, recover... of course, stay in tiny villages, help out with something, meet new people make new connections, experience something epic, trek up a mountain or volcano, spend time exploring stuff that DOES involve leaving the cushy comfort of the flashiest most pretentious hotel rooms.

What's the point in going from one city to another only to stay in nice places, eat at overrated restaurants and wander around the CBD - when many of them can do that where they come from anyway? Trip reports should include other stuff like what they actually did on that trip or are they too tight to actually fork out real money to pay for something rather than use miles/rewards points etc.
Very few on Flyertalk have actually posted a TR that I've enjoyed reading. I worked for an airline for 18yrs and never felt as though I'd actually BEEN places, despite traveling far and wide! I merely just 'stayed over' then left without being able to do what I had been itching to do the whole time.
LOL.

The username to post content correlation is strong in that one

I love TRs here, very cool and inspiring. I look forward to the day I will be contributing to this board! I will have a big one coming mid year (LH C, TG F A380, TG F B747, OZ F B747, LH C again, A321 J, and two economy class) and a smaller one coming year end (CX F, CX J, AA Eagle... or should I say AA Envoy)!
