Leeds Do (06 December 2013)

At the behest of <corporate-wage-slave> a rather tongue in cheek mini trip report of the recent Leeds Do. Attendees flew in and came by train from around the country - I got the bus!

Departed on Arriva 252 bus service at 18:24 from Hartshead Moor arrived in Leeds City Centre at 19:13. Kind lady getting off previous bus gave me her day ticket to use - saved me 4.50 Pleasant journey, no security, no metal detectors, no passport control, no food, no in-bus entertainment, quite nice to just sit and watch the world go by.

Short walk to Sam's Chop House to be greeted by <KARFA> who had so splendidly arranged the event.

Great company and chat - it was nice to make new friends and put some faces to their flyertalk handles, also to renew old friendships made at the original Leeds bmi (RIP) Do back in 2006. Yummy food and copious drinks.

Returned on Arriva bus service 252 at 22:35 from Leeds City Centre arrived at Hartshead Moor at 22:35. Bus packed (standing room only) as this was the last service back from Leeds. It was nice how everyone that got off the bus thanked the bus driver. That's Yorkshire folk for you!

Looking forward to the next Leeds Do. Let's not leave it another seven years!

Wonderful, though I hope you were able to use Fast Track and sit in the Business Class section. I guess with a free ticket you could hardly ask for the Tier Points and Avios that surely comes from all travel? But clearly the Yorkshire man in you relished the cost effectiveness of the situation.

Good to see you YT, may our paths cross again soon, whether by bus 252 or not!

I was a little concerned that not all would be as perceptive! Thanks for your kind compliment :-)

We'll look forward to welcoming you to the next Leeds Do - be it by plane, train, bus, tram, steamer . . . .

Thanks!----Mrs Handsomestpete[the princess] and i --sophisticated travellers that we are-- will have to fight our way past all the dreadful gatelice at kings cross before we find our first class seats on' East Coast 'to Leeds. Having been personally escorted to the platform from the lounge of course.
