Just returned from BA 67 to PHL. I thought that the A380 flights had a special menu. It was the exact same menu that we had. I too had the sea bass and it was excellent.

The special First Class "tasting menu" by Langham is available on the A380, see the following picture of the report (at the bottom of the right page):

Enjoyed, thanks ^

Is there any mouthwash in the amenity kit?

A fine report badoc.

Food seems decent enough and the seat looks very good. How nice of you to invite someone less fortunate up to the F cabin....hope he didn't loiter too long. ;)

Out of water in F. Yikes.

I am set to fly this one in F in Jan and saw the pics and a bit disappointing. I like the blue light on windows of the NF and consider it one of the best looking F cabin out there despite the size/space issues (but I don't care about size that much)

Thanks for sharing. The food looks great and the tasting menu certainly adds class to the menu, compared with existing choices on other aircraft. The added personal space is also a massive plus, particularly in the middle seats. Sex-specific amenity kits are a nice touch, as are the 380 branded pjs.

Looking at this pictures, and having flown NF on the 777 a handful of times I can't say that the A380 looks particularly inspiring. I just think it's such a huge missed opportunity and somewhat lazy on the part of BA's cabin teams.

Design wise, the lamp, for example, looks to be the same size as the existing cabins on other aircraft and looks lost in the larger shell of the 380 'suite'. Why not match the large shell with larger controls, light fittings, etc.? It's also such a wasted opportunity to introduce a larger seat among all that space, though I realise this would be costly. It does seem BA is determined to keep costs to a minimum and parts replacement can go from 747 to 777 to 380 as necessary. The cabin just doesn't look sleek, like it does on other aircraft, it just looks a bit empty, but that's my opinion from pictures.

What with the 747s still flying around with OF and what, from reports on here, seem to be poorly maintained cabins on these birds it just seems lacklustre and lacks the inspiration BA was once renowned for. A great shame.

Is it just me or does the cabin look a bit more bland and clinical than New First on BA's other aircraft (none of which I've flown, so I'm simply going by photos). In photos of NF on the 747 and 777 it seemed to have nice, rich materials and a certain Britishness that made it look more opulent, whereas this looks very clean and white and perhaps a touch characterless.

Me too, especially after having recently flown First aboard Emirates' A380 between London and Dubai. Maybe it's just me but I think there's a lot to be said for cabin ambience and its overall affect on us during a long 10+ hour flight. C'mon, BA - at least make it look a bit more homelike.

I really like the addition of that Tasting Menu. Why don't BA offer it on their non-A380 flights?
