Faisalabad is one of the youngest cities of Pakistan. An hour and half drive from the provincial capital of Lahore, the city has come to be known as the "Manchester of Pakistan". The city has been growing exponentially ever since it was marked on the map. Home to the legendary Qawwali artists Nusrat and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan the city has grown to become the third largest in Pakistan. It is now one of the prime producers of several agricultural and clothing goods exported throughout the world. The economic growth of the city lead to the Government of Pakistan opening Faisalabad's first dry port in the early nineties.
