Just wrote a post on Helsinki, Finland.
Does anyone else's font styles go funny on Google's Blogger? Normally it's fine, but then I add several images and each paragraph (or sometimes just a string of words within a paragraph) changes randomly, and I can't seem to get it back to normal. Methinks the arguments for bailing out and heading over to Wordpress grow considerably... What are the cons with wordpress then, folks? |
Too many fonts and images does make blogger go funny! But if you see mine I have kept it simple yet stylish and have had no problems ever since! ^

Yes, your blog does have a good-looking design.
Just curious as to how yours (and any others) ended up looking like they do? How did you decide on the layout, backgrounds, logos and so on? I just played around with the settings on mine for an hour or so, being a bit fussy, and suddenly it sort of just looked like it does and that was that! :) |

Appreciate it :) I spent alot of time each day working on it bit by bit and getting opinions from a couple of writers and bloggers alike. You want it to look bright and inviting so you can capture the readers attention. A personal touch is def required. Your readers want to know more about you! Sure they can read books, websites about the different destinations of the world - but this is YOUR blog. Write about your experiences and add some photographs to make it interesting. As far as the designs go, just play around with the colours, templates, background images and come up with something unique. It takes time but as it comes together the satisfaction will come! ^ |
Greta thread, thanks to all who have contributed.
I am in the scheming stage of starting a blog to report on my trip to Thailand later in the year, this has given me some great insight. |
I've been a member of FlyerTalk for quite a while but just recently have been spending more time here just reading.
Now decided to start getting active and I'd love to share my travel blog with everyone by posting the link but I don't want to run into trouble with Admin because I'm a new poster. Anyone know if I can just put the link into a post? |

Hi,
Long time reader, first time poster. I found this thread when looking to see if I can post links to my blog, specifically to two recent posts, one about the Qantas First Class lounge in Sydney, and one about mine and hubby's First Class flight to Hong Kong on Qantas' A380. My blog is www.holdthepeas.com Thanks HTP |
HK Travel Blog
I just started a blog for travelers based out of HK. A bit of original localized information and amalgamated information from other sites as well.

I bought a sailboat 10 years ago and left Texas on it 8 years ago. Been sailing the Western Caribbean, Panama and Colombia. My web site for the first few years is www.bruadair.us, the blog for the travels starting 2007 is at www.sv-bruadair.blogspot.com.
Last fall I went to India for three months and that travel blog (including a trip report) is at www.89daysinindia.blogspot.com. now I'm headed back to India for six months of traveling and exploring and that travel log will be at www.89daysinindia-wasntlongenough.blogspot.com. I'll be sure to include all my trip reports in the upcoming blog (will be flying AA, EY, 9W and maybe a few others). |
Hey bruadair - ever read AJ Mackinnon's "The Unlikely Voyage of Jack de Crow"? A great read, most delightfully written (in my opinion anyway), highly recommended! About a chap who stops work, and sails a little mirror dinghy from Northern Wales all the way to the Black Sea ;)
Btw, is that a Russian blue you've got there onboard? |
