Early summer holiday....CPH-DXB-MLE in J on Emirates

Bear with me as this is my first trip report

I decided to treat myself to a late summer holiday, and as I always wanted to visit The Maldives (and the new Six Senses Laamu resort), the choice was obvious

This was my first flight with Emirates, so needless to say, I was excited to see how Emirates “perform”..
I knew that we would be flying the old Business Class from CPH to DXB, and the new Business Class from DXB to MLE, so I was looking forward to experiencing the difference.

Here goes:

Copenhagen – Dubai
EK0152
Flight time: 6h20m
Aircraft: A330-200
Seat: 08A/B

CPH has a nice airport, but of course Emirates don’t operate a lounge here, so we went to the Novia Lounge.
Small, and a very slim selection of beverages, food etc. – Sorry, no pictures of the lounge….

Boarding was a bit chaotic with everyone wanting to board first, but finally, I was comfortably seated in 08A.

Pictures galore – Please excuse the crappy iPhone quality, I didn´t want to pull out my EOS :-)

Lamb - It was quite tasty..

All in all, a nice, comfortable flight, but the cabin on this A330 was a bit worn....

Touchdown in Dubai, and off to one of the Business Class lounges...

Dubai – Male
EK0658
Flight time: 4h10m
Aircraft: 777-300
Seat: 10J/K

Ahhhh.... That´s much better

The seats on the 777 are much better in my opinion, I like the "pod" design....

I actually asked about a paid upgrade to first, but the catering wasn´t available, so I declined the offer of $750 pr. pax.

More pictures on my blog (excuse the language) :-)

Hi! Thank you for your for this. Me and my family are flying CPH-DXB-MRU-CPH in March 2012. Emirates has recently change aircraft from A330-200 to 777-200 CPH-DXB and A330-200 to 777-300ER on DXB-MRU-DXB. Hopefully the business cabin is better on this 2 aircraft's?? Interesting with the upgrade cost! I just called Emirates and asked what it would cost us to upgrade from business tor first and they wanted 16500 dkk = 3200 Usd!(per person) Maybe we should wait until we are at the airport to ask for a upgrade? Is there anyone who know the difference between business class in A330-200 and 777-200 and 777-300ER DXB-MRU??

As long as you are not flying on the A330, i´m sure you will be happy about the seats

I asked for the cash upgrade onboard, so try that :-)

I´m flying CPH-DXB-PEK on EK First on the 26th of december, and it seems i´ll be flying the A330 on the CPH-DXB leg but on the 777 DXB-CPH - weird!

The blog entry sums up one thing.

Pictures speak louder than words as I don't understand a single word.

Nonetheless, Great pics of your trip to Maldives.

Emirates change equipment 1/2-2012, A330 to 777-200. And from 777-200 to 777-300 1/10-2012
