Good report. SAN and PHX seem to be the big MR destinations this year. I'm getting ready to do my 6th BOS-SAN MR of the year . Then my third PHX run.

With how the lounges are getting wouldn't it be better to credit everything to UA?

Hey, good trip report. Regarding access to lounges: I was under the impression that Star Golds (even Silvers?) get access to United's Clubs only when traveling internationally -- even if the international travel is on economy. Correct me if you please. Thanks.

Ya, but I like being able to have lounge to go to and United's lounges are in a lot of airports. It's nice to be sure you'll have free WiFi and some light snacks.

If you have Star Gold with US, UA, or CO then you cannot enter any of the United Lounges or any of the US's lounges, but if you have Star Gold with Aegean (like I do) or any other foreign *A carrier then you get access to United and US lounges.

I'm glad i remembered your trip report. I'm doing another MR to San Diego arrive 11:45pm and depart 7am. I guess T1 food court is the place to be? If your still following this thread, do you recall being hassled at all for staying the night? Sleeping in airports website appears to be out of date.

I was not hassled at all at SAN. There were tons of other people sleeping in the airport too. The T1 food court is decent, but there's not much in terms of comfortable places to lie down anywhere in the airport that I could find. The food court has a 24-hour Starbucks and a McDonald's that's open late (and reopens very early). Good luck!

You were spot on. Not very comfortable but no one bugged me. Although SAN PD did spend some time chatting up this cute gal hanging out not to far from me. I don't know what I was thinking but i skipped on a In-N-Out run before my attempted slumber. For the morning, I totally missed the fact there's a UA club in T1 opening at 5:15am. I could have relaxed at instead of he crowded gate area. For some reason i thought it was in T2. Oh well I got enough lounge time in SFO for my 3.5 hour layover
