Upcoming trip reports! First-timer!
I'm sure some of you aren't interested, but me being a n00b, I am. My first time in business with my family (other than Sabena First during the NYC snowstorm in '02/'03 and AF Business after misconnect in CDG but those were both impromptu :D)
Anyway, VS 46 JFK-LHR Business (Nose of a 747!) Trains LHR-CDG-VCE-FLR-FCO LH 231 FCO-FRA Coach Overnight in FRA SQ 26 FRA-JFK Coach (Upper Deck A380) Any thoughts? I used 320K CO miles in total for 4 people. I still have about 500K in other airlines left. TIA. Also coming (not interesting though) UA JFK-SFO-EWR Y |
Cool, I rember my first flight on a 747 right up in the nose row 1 on LH it was a great experience !! Also I was thinking that SQ would replace the 744 with A388 on the SIN-FRA-JFK route I almost booked it but never did enjoy !
|
Thanks crazy. I was going to either book LX or LH economy but when I saw the A380 on the FRA-JFK I had to jump! My kids have never been in an A380 so my son's pretty excited. Also, that window storage on the upper deck is a smart concept! The upper Y is supposed to be better than the aft Y, less crowded I guess.

Are you taking the overnight train from Paris to Venice? If so, reconsider. It's gotten pretty bad on that route (no more sleepers, only couchettes) and I'd recommend taking day-time trains via Milan or Zurich instead. You could even take the German night train to Munich and a scenic day-train through the Alps. Slower, but trust me, that CDG-VCE train is bad. Pathetic compared to other night trains in Europe.

Thanks! Was about to but now reconsidering. Any good ideas on which flights I can take CDG-VCE? Not too expensive. Of course, please NOT Ryanair :O

IIRC the Ryanair flight doesn't go to VCE (Marco Polo), it goes to Treviso, and originates at Beauvais (BVA) rather than CDG. These guys (STAR, aka XL) seem to do occasional nonstops CDG-VCE: http://www.xlairways.fr/ Otherwise you end up looking at connections. twj |

Not that I want to nitpick or anything, but Sabena went out of business on November 7 2001.
It's fine I like to nitpick as well ;) |
