Just make sure it's a picture of her lounging around then...

Man, the timing of that sea-plane sounds horrible. Some luxury experience that.

I'm looking forward to the rest of your report and pictures.

Also, does the Maldives being a Muslim nation affect your wife's enjoyment of the trip in any way?

I was curious about that while researching the Maldives.

Having recently visited the Maldives myself with my wife, I'm interested in reading the rest of your report. And congratulations on getting married!

Jafa39 Apr 26, 2011 2:34 pm

Makes a change for someone on an aviation forum to actually marry a woman! ;-)

I think being abandoned on a tiny platform in the middle of the sea would tip Mrs Jafa over the edge...there would have been crying.....how did your bride cope?

Maldives is one of the more conservative Muslim countries. Every citizen by law is a Muslim. There is no alcohol allowed on Maldives except on the resorts. Your bags will be scanned at customs and any alcohol will be confiscated which means by no taking any duty free into Maldives. Dress "moderately" when you're in Male on visiting a local village.

However, once you're own your resort, there's really very little affect. Alcohol and pork are freely served.

with that being said, does that mean the meat served in the resorts are halal? obviously not the pork...but i.e chicken, beef, lamb?
