Again, similar to your other Photo Trip Reports, there are some really good photos here. As someone mentioned earlier this thread, some of the photos looked like art works.
Have you thought about having your trip reports posted elsewhere intead of on Flyertalk? Most of the readers here are more interested in Airliner.net types of airplane travels than the locations themselves. You probably will get more appreciation for your TRs elsewhere than FT. |

Regarding moving my TRs elsewhere, I am a loyalist in many things I do. I have learned so much from FT, and have enjoyed reading and sharing on this website. Now, as a Flyertalk Board Member, it is my goal to make this website even better for travel enthusiasts. |

Valletta is the capital of Malta, colloquially known as Il-Belt (English: The City) in Maltese. It is located in the central-eastern portion of the island of Malta and the city proper has a population of 6,098. According to Eurostat, the larger urban zone of Valletta has a population of 368,250.
Valletta contains buildings from the 16th century onwards, built during the rule of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, also known as Knights Hospitaller. The city is essentially Baroque in character, with elements of Mannerist, Neo-Classical and Modern architecture in selected areas, though World War II left major scars on the city. The City of Valletta was officially recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1980. The city is named for Jean Parisot de la Valette, who succeeded in defending the island from an Ottoman invasion in 1565. The official name given by the Order of Saint John was Humilissima Civitas Valletta — The Most Humble City of Valletta, or Città Umilissima in Italian. The bastions, curtains and ravelins along with the beauty of its Baroque palaces, gardens and churches, led the ruling houses of Europe to give the city its nickname Superbissima — 'Most Proud'. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1...D720/ry%3D480/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1...D720/ry%3D480/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1...D720/ry%3D480/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1...D720/ry%3D480/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1...D720/ry%3D480/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1...D720/ry%3D480/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1...D720/ry%3D480/ http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1...D720/ry%3D480/ |

Final Words
http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1...D720/ry%3D480/
This report finally gets done....over five months after it was started. As mentioned earlier, lot's work and loss of camera in the past several months put me in a wrong frame of mind to finish this report. As result of the delay, it seems the quality of the contents also suffered. I was not right frame of mind to diligently selecting the photos for this report. Malta was a wonderful place to visit. It ranks the top place I visited in 2010. Unfortunately, it is not an airline hub and its airlines does not below to any alliances to attract frequent flyers to select it as a vacation spot. It is cheaper than other Western European countries but just as rich in culture and history. Magnificient views of the seas and wonderful resorts make this place worth more attention thant it gets including in this forum. http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1...D720/ry%3D480/ |
