The cutlery is metal, except the knives which are plastic due to Australian regulations.

Genius1,

It was a most excellent report. I know you put a lot of work into this. Keep it up...

Great TR.

Very interesting to see and read about the QF F product, especially on the A380.

Just got around to reading this; an excellent overview, many thanks for taking the time to post it.

What a shame about the plastique cutlery; the only thing I could possibly improve upon for what seemed to be an otherwise faultless experience.

This has been changed now.
The Australian Government changed its security regulations last year, all airlines had to use plastic knives, not just QF. It took QF some time to organise replacement knives that match their Marc Newson designed cutlery.

I remember flying BA10 in F SYD-BKK in November 2009, and having to use all plastic cutlery - knife, fork and spoons! Quite flimsy and it still surprises me to no end how I did not manage to snap anything whilst eating my filet steak.

At least the plastic knife that QF sported is fairly solid and has more strength than the plastic knife I used on BA.

Was all set to take the CX N/S CDG-HKG until I accidentally stumbled upon an F award seat available on the QF A380 LHR-SIN! Taking the long way to HKG now and this report has made me even more excited! Thanks!

Go to Quick Links (on the top bar), then Edit Options, and make sure Show Images is ticked.
