Video Trip Report: Continental Domestic Business/First SFO-IAH-MIA-EWR-SFO

As a United 1K, I have wondered what other airlines are like. This trip, since United really does not serve MIA with good options, I chose CO. I really wanted to see what their domestic business/first looked like.

Well, I can say that food-wise, CO blows United out of the water! There is absolutely no contest. Every meal I have had on CO has just been fantastic. The food quality is just so good! In fact the meal EWR-SFO was better than most UA international business class flight food.

I had seen some pictures of CO's food on other sites, and it looked really good. But I did not know it was this good!

The link to the video is here:

And I have included some photos so you can see what the food looks like.

Delicious cheeseburger with cream of mushroom soup SFO-IAH:

Real salt & pepper shakers:

Warm chocolate chip cookie:

Asparagus, shrimp, soup, and pasta:

Direct TV!

Real dinner menu:

Pork chop with fava bean risotto. This was as good as a restaurant's--delicious!

Ice cream sundae. Soft vanilla ice cream, delicious caramel and chocolate!

Fantastic video trip report! I am already looking forward to the next one.

I have been considering whether to try CO's BusinessFirst transpac flight after I pass the United GS 50,000 BIS full fare requirement for next year's requalification.

After seeing what you just experienced in domestic F, it is easier to make the jump.

I just flew Untied F JFK-SFO-NRT-PEK, and food was

Outstanding report and video! CO's domestic BF food/service appears to still hold its own. Too bad you didn't have the 757 from EWR to SFO. Thanks!

The snacks at the PC looked just like the snacks at the RCC. Same type of cheese and crackers...

I as also surprised at the amount of legroom in the first row of F! I wish some of the UA aircraft were like that!! Perhaps UA will take a chapter from the Continental book, and give us food like you had!!

Thanks for posting the video!

BusinessFirst (shorthand BF). BusinessElite is Delta's up-front product.

CO food is good, service is another story.

UA catering is at the bottom of the pack, slightly above US airways. DL, CO, and AA are all better than UA, by far.

Remember though, the reason why CO is able to "splurge" on catering is because they own their own catering company, Chelsea, which cuts the cost down in half.

Once CO surrenders to become UA, you can expect to see meal improvement

Thanks for the pics though!

Excellent video reports and I'm glad to see where you flew on CO flight out of SFO-IAH-MIA and returns from MIA-EWR-IAH. So why you didn't put on AA nonstop from SFO-MIA-SFO is easier for you instead of going through IAH due to long hours layover. So please do that for me next time if you can be consider to flying on AA. I can see brand new president club in terminal E. It was looks so beautification.

Good trip report. Whenever I've flown CO or UA it has always been in the back end.

Very nice. No dessert? lol, i know how you feel, sometimes I skip it as well. That turbulence was great, no need to swirl ur wine That sundae at the end looked great! Wish AA had free booze too at the AC.

No, they're full. Just the seats are so big you can't see the people!

This is an excellent question. The main answer is that AA is not star alliance. I would get no UA miles for that flight. Also, by flying MIA-EWR-SFO, I get an extra 1000 miles. In the spirit of FT, that is my semi-mileage run! Make the business trip a little bit longer, and get more miles out of it!
