Hi, we stayed at Xudum Delta Lodge from "And Beyond". Will be posting a report on that very shortly.

:)

I gather you recommend both places? Botswana and Namibia?

What vacinations did you need? Thanks.

We already had vaccinations from previous trip to Tanzania, which requires Yellow Fever (not sure Botswana requires YF). You do, however, need to talk anti-matarials every day.

How long did you stay at Sossusvlei? I recently decided to add that to a trip to Botswana and Zambia and was wondering how long is about right at the dunes.

BTW, I'm enjoying your blog a lot. I'll be in Beijing next month so found the District 798 entry particularly of interest and just wrote for reservations at Red Capital Club.

Hi, thanaks for your kind comments. We stayed 5 days / 4 nights at Sossusvlei. Glad to hear you are going to the Red Capital Club - make sure you have a brandy in the smoking room and have a browse through the collected speeches of of Chairman Mao!

Thanks for the pictures. I would be afraid to take a boat / canoe lest a hippo bumps into the canoe.

Full report from Xudum

You can read more about those hippos and everything else about Xudum, as I have just posted a full report on our stay:

Early-mid autumn is the perfect time to go to the Okavango, so if you want to go this year, start thinking about it now!

The birdlife is particularly interesting, as you can see from the pictures I have posted below.
