On 8/17/09 on a flight from DFW to LGA, shortly after take, the announcement re items for purchase in Y, was "...there may be limited quality for items to be purchased", she immediately corrected herself quantity instead of quality.:)

Years back when airlines began to cut (free) meals on domestic flights on a UA JFK/MIA flight (when UA had a much bigger presence at JFK) the FA began to tell Y paxs about the lovely dinner service when she was interrupted by another FA. She then had to get back on the PA and tell the paxs that dinner was no longer being served (prior to BOB).

As this is really not airline specific we are going to send this to the TravelBuzz forum where they may or may not combine with a previous thread,

I had something similar happen. Flying on AA's defunct SNA-JFK redeye in 2003, the FA said "after takeoff we will be in the cabin to serve you a beverage and dinner service". Only to be swiftly followed by another FA who said "if you are in the Main Cabin there will be NO meal service."
