Good pax/ bad pax
 

At the risk of re-creating a thread that may have been done in the past, I am curious about what kinds of behaviors from other pax (not AA employees, save that for the next thread *smile*) either annoy you, anger you, or just cause you to scratch your head in wonder/disbelief/amazement.

The reason I ask this is because sometimes when reading these threads, I am suprised at how much I agree with certain people's comments and find other people's points of view totally baffling! Not making any value judgments here but I think it could make for an interesting debate.

I'll go ahead and start:

-Pax in groups 2-6 that anchor themselves right at the entryway to the boarding line before boarding starts and then stay put while everyone else tries to approach the boardng area. WHY???!!!! I think when people see other people moving toward the boarding area they don't wanna fall behind or miss out on anything...a form of competitive behavior or survival of the fittest but it irritates me to no end.

Particularly as it has nothing whatsoever to do with AA (and had likely been done many, many times over there).

Hmmmmmm.. Things that other travelers do to annoy/bug me.. Hmmmmmmmm... that list is too long.. I will give the short list.

-- I agree with the boarding situation ...
-- Bringing the whole family of 12 into the club/lounge.
--Deliberately ignoring the FA's request to turn OFF electronic devices.
--PAX who always want to trade you for sub par seats
--Pax who stand on the left and right on the moving sidewalk
--pax who deliberately ignore the fasten seat belt sign
-- pax who talk on speaker phone in the club/lounge
--pax who are not prepared to go through security when they reach the checkpoint.
--non elite pax or elite pax of other airlines begging GA's for upgrades-pretty pathetic sometimes.
--unruly children in FC
--unruly parents in FC
--loud talkers on planes and in clubs/lounges
--overhead bin rearrangers . Just cause you got on late does not mean you can more my bags farther back on the plane so you can have yours closer to you.
--the list goes on.....

Hey great list! I'll second you on the "loud talkers". Oh man sometimes I wish them nothing but utter humiliation and ill will.

Here's one...

Passenger's that can't seem to mind their own business and who get irritated at the slightest thing.

Yes! Just the other day the lady in front of me argued for about 5 minutes with the TSA guy because he wouldn't let her through. The reason? She had printed her itinerary from her email and was trying to get through. She couldn't understand that she needed to get a BP!

Also, I'll add:
-- seat poachers! Those who don't even ask to trade, but just sit in your seat and expect you to take their seat without asking first.
-- seat kickers - I have had grown men kick my seat throughout a flight!
-- people who don't understand that yes, there are people who can board before seating 1 (on UA) and try to block the boarding area
-- people who laugh extremely loudly every 30 seconds while having a conversation on the plane

Pax who board a plane with non plane-friendly food and/or luggage. I WISH I were exaggerating this, but I once saw a woman board a plane at CHT carrying:
-A barrel-sized cup of soda
-A plate of nachos with melted cheese topping
-A lap-dog in a carrier, which she then opened on board to "let the little guy stretch his legs" :mad:

Thankfully in this case the FA immediately told her that the pooch had to go back in his case, which had to go under the seat (not in the overhead like I was hoping) and the nachos had to go. Priceless. ;)

1) So that the SECOND their zone is called they can get on board and claim some of the dwindling overhead bin space.

2) So that when the gate agents get distracted by random problems and never get to their zone they can board and claim some bin space.

Last week I flew YVR => MSP => DCA, then a few days later, DCA => SLC => YVR. In all but the last leg, all the overhead bins were full before the plane was 3/4 full. By anchoring myself at the entryway I was able to get on board once the gate agent(s) had stopped calling zones and get some bin space.

Pax who have an entitlement attitude just because they know how to breed and choose to bring their spawn with them on a plane.
