FlightStats.com

I have found that Flightstats.com is an awesome flight tracker with a live map using Google to show you exactly where the flight is. I love zooming in seeing the cities and national parks the flight flies over as well as the stats including delays at the originating and arrival airport, historical delay info for AA flight numbers from DFW-SJC the distance to destination arrival and departure info.

The cool thing is this is free and easy to use. If you have a laptop with WiFI onboard you can track your flight. This is a mini Airshow with ability to zoom in on the states you are flying over.

Anyone else here use this cool tool?

Tried using it to track some Air New ZEaland flights & they are not listed. Presume it does not show all airlines.:(

Flightstats does report NZ flights. However the tracker map generally works only over US airspace.

Hi

I use flightstats.com all the time - especially when I'm going to update my Flightmemory: http://my.flightmemory.com/gardkarlsen . When I used flightstats I'm sure that I can all the details right :-)

I loved the tool until I used it. FlightAlerts for mexican flights don't work properly. I get the departure/delay/landing alerts hours later.

Anyway I love the idea behind FlightStats... =)

Thanks! flightstats.com helped me find out the aircraft types from 2005 to 2007 missing from my FlightMemory. They're not that accurate, but it's certainly better than nothing. But if registration numbers were included, it would be near perfect!

Where can you find aircraft types from 2005?

www.flightstats.com has information from 1 January 2005 on. Just do a search by flight, by typing the flight number and date, and you'll get the scheduled aircraft type. Chances are it was the actual one, although the information is a bit vague: Airbus 320 (no further details) or even Airbus 318/319/320/321.
