Better in Y? Qatar or Emirates?
 
Need to go IAH-MAA. To dubai or Doha is a 777, and the short flight is a A321 on Qatar and an A330 on Emirates. Times and price are almost exact same. No status on any airline and it seems like we can just collect UA miles for either flight. Which one would be better. I'm thinking maybe Emirates because I think they have more flights in case a connection is missed.

Yes, I would say EK, just because of more flights to MAA. Dont know about comfort in Y in Qatar Air (never been). however, I do like EK economy. Very pleasant service.

DOH is a very boring place, DXB is much better.

EK Y on 777s is 10 across...Thats far too tight for a flight the length of IAH-DXB. I would go w/ QR
