First post!

Holy cow, I feel like I have been cramming all night for a semester final in biology. I discovered the site just a day ago and have been booking it since then. It is like a good book you can't seem to put down. I don't even like to read that much either.)

I have put my mandated 10+ hours in reading different threads and I thought why not my first post be in the biggest thread going? I don't even know that I'm qualified to be able to post, I'm so ignorant compared to you ff pro's.

I have PM'd a couple members and would like to discuss (thru pm or chat) what us newbies all want to know. That is to answer our questions about what we think we know. I'm a special education teacher and work with kids who disabled, so I know about reading disabilities. I just never thought I had one until now). I have and will continue to research threads in trying to formulate my own knowledge, but it would be great to ask some vets if I'm on the right track ect.

Please PM me if you want the unenviable task of helping a rookie with some guidance. I'm from Chicago, went to University of Iowa, lived in So Cal for 10 years and just this past year relocated to the Middle East. I'm a huge Bear, Cub, UCLA fan.

I hope I have appealed to someone's favorite team or local.)

God bless,
Jeff

schley, welcome to FlyerTalk. FlyerTalk seeks to be transparent -- that is you pose a travel Q. or two or three to the FlyerTalk Community in the appropriate forum and more often than not a member or two or three or many will reply and a dialogue will start. Also the community is about sharing so if you have a special travel experience you believe may help others, post about it in the appropriate forum. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator, TravelBuzz.

Welcome to FT! :) As someone else pointed out, we're a generally friendly bunch so feel free to post your questions where they seem to fit and we'll do our best to help. However, I'm not sure if you came across this in your reading/searching but if not, it will help to understand a lot of the terms used here. http://www.flyertalk.com/glossary/

Welcome

There is so much to learn here. After 2 years of reading I still feel like a neophyte. This is an extremely valuable forum for travel types in general and especially frequent flyer programs. I wish I had discovered this forum years ago. It would have helped me get lifetime frequent flyer status sooner than the 1 1/2 more years it will take me. Enjoy and use all the information.
