*Interline Baggage Agreements
 

I am wondering if anyone has any experience with Interline Baggage Agreements? Here is my problem:

I have booked flights on two different airlines. (Alaska & American) I will be flying into DFW, and have 1.5 hours between the two flights.

I have heard it is possible to have the first airline book my luggage all the way through to my final destination. However, when I just called Alaska, they told me it was at the whim of the check-in agent.

Does anyone know if there is a way to confirm in advance that my luggage will be checked all the way through? I am worried that 1.5 hours isn't enough time to claim checked luggage, recheck the luggage, and then make it through security and to the gate.

Any advice will be really appreciated!!

I cannot imagine any situation in which you could not check your baggae straight through on the two flights, certainly recommended for DFW connections where baggage claim outside seurity makes changing terminals a hassle. Years ago, Alaska used to fly from an AA terminal and gate, but that may no longer be true, putting you aboard the Skytrain to make the change.

On the other hand, will your bags make it to your destination? Usually, yes.
