Okay - the price for a return is half the price of a one way ticket.

Which I find crazy, but such is life.....

Any issues with not using the return leg from USA back to the UK?

We would be departing the USA via a cruise ship.

Would hate to get issues with US immigration!!

Often, even airline ticketing people will recommend you buy a R/T ticket and throw out the return leg.
