How Many Commercial Airlines?
Dodgiest: United feels like you are flying in a old wooden crate.
Ryanair for service and dirty interiors. I didn't want to touch anything. No organized boarding, just open the gates and let the cattle loose. Offered free sandwiches first and then made you pay for water. This was a flight from Stanstead, UK to Gdansk, Poland in 2007

For me it has been 21 different airlines (22 in November when I fly Aegean)....
The dodgiest has to be a tie between:
TAG Transportes Aéros Guatemaltecos from Santa Elena to Guatamala City
and
Aerocontinente from Trujillo to Lima, Peru

old topic but looks fun so I'll post!
I think I count 25 off off the top of my head
Air Canada, American, Alaskan, United, Porter, Air Transat, WestJet, Canadian (b4 it got taken over), Continental, Swiss Air, Lufthansa, British Airways, Iberia, Vueling, EasyJet, Kulula, Singapore, Cathay, Tiger, Jetstar, Cambodia Angkor Air, Vietnam Airlines, Qantas, VirginBlue, Air New Zealand.
Crappiest: any of the north american domestic routes although I didn't like Vueling much
Best: Singapore...I don't remember Cathay cuz it was a long time ago but SIA was fantastic.

Airlines Flown:
All Nippon Airways, Allegiant Air, Air China, Air France, American Airlines, China Southern, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, Midwest Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, there are probably others I've flown in my 17 years of life that I can't recall
Dodgiest:
Definitely Sichuan from HRB to NKG. Nanjing was in the middle of a huge storm, as in the several streets were flooded and blocked off. The turbulence was incredible, and the plane did not stop shaking violently at all during the last part of the flight. Perhaps the only time in my life I was ever afraid for my life on a plane.
Best:
I'd have to say NW or UA, simply since I got to sit in J on a trans-pacific flight..their Y product isn't that great though, so I'm going to have to split it up. That honor would go to NH mainly due to their food and entertainment. For domestic F, I'd go with YX's all first service or DL, it's a draw.

38 Airlines
All Nippon Airways (ANA)
Japan Airlines (New 777 Y seats are surprisingly comfortable)
Japan Air System (No longer in service)
Skymark Airways
Asiana Airlines
Cathay Pacific (Best J service I've received so far)
Korean Airlines
Vietnam Airlines (Love the FA dress. Traditional Vietnamese Aodai)
Singapore Airlines
Air China (First time in my life I was handed a warm beer)
JetStar (3rd Dodgiest, no livery... plain white 737 [domestic in Vietnam])
Lao Airline (2nd Dodgiest)
Thai Airways
Qantas
Air Asia
Cebu Pacific (Kinda like Southwest of SE Asia. FA entertains the passengers onboard)
British Airways
Lufthansa
LOT Polish
Wizz Air
SkyEurope (No Longer in Service)
Iberia
Spanair
Turkish Airways
Royal Air Maroc (Surprisingly great service. Broken armrest = Captain himself guides me to F and upgrades my friend as well [Casablanca to Conakry on 737]. For odd reason they skipped me during dinner service. In return, they served me F food [JFK-CMN 767])
American Airlines (Most flown airline. 1.2million Lifetime Miles)
United Airlines
Delta Airlines
Continental Airlines (merging with UA)
Northwest Airlines (merged with DL)
Hawaiian Airlines
Alaskan Airlines
Southwest Airlines
AirTran
JetBlue (Love the TV)
Midwest (acquired by Frontier)
LAN Airlines
StarPeru (DODGIEST)

Let's see..not an impressive list compared to some of these, but at least a geographically diverse one.
Air Canada
Air China
AirTran
BA
BMI
Continental
CSA
Delta
East African Safari Air Express
Kingfisher Airlines
Lufthansa
NWA
Qatar Airways
SAS
Swiss
United
Xiamen Airlines
Best: Qatar (by far)
Dodgiest: Definitely East African, but it wasn't that bad. Plane was a Fokker 70, so not too old. Cabin service was friendlier than on most US airlines. The main issue was that the cabin smelled terrible. That's what happens when all the pax are coming from a refugee camp of 70,000 in the desert.
Most surprising: Xiamen Airlines. Very pleasant service and good food.

Airasia
Air France
British Airways
China Airlines
Cathay Pacific
Flybe
Garuda Indonesia
KLM
Loganair
Malaysia Airlines
Qantas
Singapore Airlines
Tiger Airways
Dodgiest I have to say is an Air France B777 into HKG. I think it was one of the first ever B777 delivered to Air France and the inside was falling to bits. I dread to think what was falling off outside the plane.
Also had a dodgy take off in a KLM B747Combi where the pilot pulled too hard and the tail bounced off the runway at SIN.

Dodgy flight dept:
Lugansk Airlines, Donetsk-Kiev on a snowy Saturday afternoon Feb. 2005.
Spent about 3 hours waiting for the delayed inbound flight from Kiev drinking coffee in the terminal. Two pilots were seated across the way in a bar drinking vodka with a couple blondes. Boy was I surprised at boarding time to see they were our pilots! An old 60s era Tupolev.
The two blondes boarded too and took seats in the back, but as we were taxiing out to the runway they moved up into the cockpit.

I have not flown all that much but this made me think:
American/various American Eagle
British Airways
Cathay Pacific (pending - my first J and F class ever)
Continental
CSA Czech Airlines
Delta/Comair
Iberia
LOT Polish Airways
Maya Island Air (Belize)
Northwest
Southwest
TWA
USA3000
Vueling
Worst is between Iberia and Vueling, the latter mainly for its shoddy pre-flight cancellations, delays, and overall service. The one I was actually concerned with a little, Maya Air, was positively pleasant.
