If I am traveling alone I wear my Crocs, if I am traveling with others I wear my Sperry Topsiders, comfortable, professional, and they slip on and off easily at security.

^ That would be my #1 criterion.
I swear by my Cole-Haan loafers (I rotate through 5 pairs). They go very well with anything from casual-casual to biz-casual to semi-formal to formal. Their penny loafers are great for traveling... Tory Burch has many flat shoes for women... it's good to invest in something that last forever rather. Hope this help. |
seat pillow
I'm making my first long trip from Florida to Hawaii and desperately need advice on the best kind of seat pillow for coccyx discomfort, flying coach.

I have a pair of Dr. Martens http://www.drmartens.com/ . They are slip ons a (no laces). They are very light and comfy ehoough to change terminals bu foot in LAX or LHR and are generally good enough for a suit but not a tux.
They also do not contain a metal strip re-enforcement thinggy so you can keep them on through security on countries other than the US. |
And from another Aussie....
If you can get them, the pull on (low) boots from R.M.Williams are beautifully made and very comfortable... About AUD$300.. so with the current exchange rate that's what? USD$29.95?:rolleyes::D |
Me, too!

I've had good success with the mid-priced shoes at Men's Wearhouse.

If you want something a bit more upscale, I wear J.M. Weston loafers. They have waterproof soles and heels and fit the same way now as when I bought them two years ago.

Just let you all know that Flight001.com is having a sale 20% off the entire website. You could buy a lot of travel related stuff from there. From neck pillows, to luggages......ect.
Not sure they would have shoes.... |
I loooove flying with my Skechers... easy to slip on & off at security, and very comfy to wear if you end up walking or standing for long periods. There are tons of styles to choose from and you can find them between $30-$60
My fave styles: more casual/athletic Point Blank or Riches I have these in a few colors, and they work with dressier "work" outfits: Step Ups or Engage/Cage |
The best place to buy shoes is Milan. I like Lorenzo Banfi, but Gucci loafers work well too. Very comfortable to walk in. No metal, no need to remove at most reasonable security checkpoints.
|
I also swear by the Cole-Haan loafers. They have Nike's, Air technology, in the heels.
|
I usually buy Ecco, as it's the best at that price point. First thing I do is take out the insole and replace it with a much more comfy one.
If my budget was double, I'd probably buy Mephisto. Personally, I stay away from fashion branded shoes - but that's just me. |
antlass, I also love my Skechers! I just haven't quite broken in my latest pair yet -- they gave me a few nasty blisters last time I wore them to the airport. But if I want something a little sportier than the ballet flats, I go with Skechers. Gotta love the price, too.

I swear by Merrell mocs (they have many styles), probably the most comfortable shoes ever. And not only are they comfy, they're tough, durable, supportive and have no laces. They also look better than Crocs - you can wear them to dinner with a slacks and a shirt.
Ladies: ballet flats. |
