Ticketing question about missing middle name.

My passport has my middle name on it. When I obtained an award ticket from AA for travel from SFO-LAX-SYD, and purchased tickets for travel within Australia, my middle name was omitted from the tickets. When I made arrangements for hotels, middle name was also omitted. Agents at AA and Qantas, and travel agents all indicate that this is not a problem. Am concerned about last minute problems due to this. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

As long as the first and last names match, it won't be a problem. Many documents have full names. Just make sure your FF# is correct on everything. :p

As long as your Australia visa or ETA has your middle name you should be fine

My passport not only has my middle name but also "Jr." whereas all my bookings (airline, hotel, credit cards etc.) only have my first and last name without the "Jr." In all the years that I've traveled here in the U.S. or overseas, I've never had a single problem. So, foxf1, you're gonna be OK.

I never book tickets with my middle name. United put my middle initial after my first name and stuck my salutation on it so the ticket read
Lastname/MissGJ83MI

Australia didn't care about that, they were more concerned with having the street address of where i was going to be staying.

When I go to Canada I book through my travel agent instead of United's call center so my tickets read Lastname/GJ83. Canada is more concerned with me traveling on business than whether I have a middle name or initial on my passport. I believe everyone in the US with a middle name gets it on the passport and now on drivers licenses too.

Most of the time my tickets haven't had my middle name. No problem.

Shouldn't be an issue at all. I always leave middle names out since they just offer one more opportunity for a mistake or error!

As far as I know, I've never had my middle name on a plane ticket. I don't like it, don't use it, and don't have it recorded anywhere except my birth certificate and passport. It's never been a problem, US or Australia.

I have no real objection to my middle name but I don't really identify with it, either. My first + last is unique as far as I can tell, what do I need with another name? It has shown up on tickets sometimes when they were booked by a travel agent working off my passport, otherwise I don't think it's ever appeared on them.

Never travelled on a ticket which has my middle name on it and never had a problem anywhere.

I've even travelled where my first name is represented by an initial only, and also never had a problem.

If you need a visa to the destination country, then it should have listed your full name. The airline ticket only needs to list first and last name. Middle name is optional.
