Clear plastic passport cover
Hi,
I've been looking for a tight fit clear plastic cover for a very long time! Well, today, I searched for it once again and I found three different ebay auctions that sell these covers. They sell them for about 4 dollars each. I know, it's a little expencive for a piece of plastic but given how hard it is to find them, I think $4 is ok. If just like me you've been looking for one of these covers for a long time, just go to ebay and type in: "clear plastic passport cover". I ordered three for myslef. I hope that after I put my passport in the plastic cover, those security goons that work for american airlines in Europe will just put their stickers on the plastic cover. I am really sick of my passport cover getting always more sticky due to those stickers they use. Those stickers use really strong glue! |
You might find that those security goons and immigration people will ask you to take it out of the cover. Some won't but you will run into a few that want it out.

At CVS ...
Last year I obtained a clear plastic passport cover for $.99 at my local CVS. That was in conjuction with having them take my photos for passport use.

I actually gave up on it a while ago, because I was always asked to remove the passport, or they removed it. I though it was getting more wear and tear from being put in and out of it then just in my ticket wallet with everything else.
Though for protection from a few drops of a drink or something when filling out your entry forms on the return trip, they can't be beat. |
My Tiger Repelling Rock works too

*Snicker if you want, but since covering my PP with a Faraday Shield, I have not seen a single UN Black Invisible Helicopter outside my window, so it works. :p |

I got the 99 cent version at CVS too. I bought it at the photo counter.

I've used the CVS ones and although they work, they are made of a pretty flimsy plastic.
I bought a couple of ones of ones in NRT that are made of a higher quality plastic and have easy access to the data page. They were about 300-400 yen a pop. |
