Connecting flights

I have a question on booking connecting flights. Here's my situation... I need to fly from NYC to SEA, but I need to make a stop in FLL or PBI to drop my kids off at my parents who live in South Florida on the way (and pick them back up on the return). How do I go about booking a ticket where I can force that sort of routing because I don't think it would come up naturally given that it's so far out of the way. Is there an online site that would let me specify the connection points?

Thanks,

Jonathan

I should have added that my parents will be meeting me at the airport so I'm not looking for a multi-segment trip, but rather just a connecting flight with enough of a layover to get everyone together. Thanks!

Based on a quick search, I don't see any non-stop flights between FLL and SEA. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like I'd have to go through MIA. I was able to get ITA's website to show some routings, but the pricing is way high, so I guess I'll just look to book a couple of separate tickets.

You're welcome. Your best bet would probably be to look at the airlines who have FLL or MIA as focus cities.
