I doubt this deal will work out for the customers: if you dial up a hotel you usually won't get the lowest rates. And if you have to identify yourself as a member of the program, they might quote you a different price to begin with...

Wrong location

One of the hotels on the list - Hastings Slieve Donard Hotel 4* Belfast Northern Ireland - is actually in the seaside town of Newcastle, Co. Down, about 30 miles south of Belfast.
It is a good hotel, though.

Maybe this indicates something about the reliability of the list

you'd get better results using the $20 trick 5 times !

Any experience with www.pureupgrades.com?

I doubt as well this deal will work out for the members, they don't get any guarantee since the upgrade is depending on room availability as they say... and what kind of upgrade do I get for the money, a suite for a standard rate? ;)

From "Standard" to "Delux" is a $9-21/night difference, so unless you're spending 10+days...

Apparently the Westfalenhaus has a unique pricing structure. The nightly rate for a standard single room is $72.00, weekly its $540.00. Such a deal!!!

i think it s a waste of money

i think it s a waste of money

we usually buy cheapest rooms in nice hotels and get upgrades thanks to the loyalty cards or none as it s not really necessary unless there is sth wrong in the rooms

on top of that i nice smile at the reception is enough to get a room that you want

having seen the list of the hotel makes me think if I would ever go to these hotels

Don't pay some company (pureupgrades.com) money to get free room upgrades- kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it?

Being kind and amiable to the front desk helps immensely. We have limited discretion for upgrades.
Contact the front desk if there are any issues with your room. Many "100 percent" guarantees require that you notify the front desk right away of problems. You would be amazed how many nights I have no phone calls from rooms but people wanting money back for various reasons in the morning. They don't get it.
Mistakes happen, rooms don't get cleaned, etc. Having a nice attitude when registering any issues will go far in getting an upgrade/discount. Cursing at the front desk will not help (I'll evict you if you curse at me). Let the front desk know what will make you happy and we'll let you know if it is possible.
